CONCRETE DIAMOND IDEA DIY – 2 IN 1
[I]Today I would like to introduce to you a damn nice and brilliant DIY. Since my concrete tree project – which came really with you – I am in the fever. In the concrete fever! One can create the nicest and most modern things with this building material. Also as gift ideas many are suited very well. So also the today’s one. Because I clarify dear not only to introduce practical projects, but also, today I show you an especially cool concrete Do It Yourself idea. The today’s concrete diamond idea DIY is immediately 2 things in one! One can use this nice piece as a jewellery filing – for example, for arm maturity – as well as for plants.[/I]
[I]Topically there is in the Interior area in general the trend towards simple objects, or pieces of furniture of concrete. Our today’s concrete diamond lies more than in the trend! By his geometrical form he brings a certain charm in the space. Also by the unusual material this concrete is a diamond a real eye-cacher and proves that concrete is able just more, than to form only streets. Combined with a trendy golden clay there originates an elegant Deko the element which is able to do still what![/I]
[I] Especially well I like the concrete diamond as a plant holder. Just with extremely looking tillandsias he looks absolutely noble! These plants should have discovered loyal readers already a few times with me on the blog. Thus I have shown you with the project DIY Low budget designer shelve already a few photos. However, now let us with the today’s idea DIY get cracking![/I]
Required products for concrete diamond:
– Cement
– Quartz sand
– Water
– Bucket
– Spatula
– Old packaging from cardboard or Plastik
– Triangle ruler
– Pen
– Scissors
– Gold colored lacquer
– Tape
– Empty loo roll
– Tinfoil
– Steel chain & pliers
Thus the concrete diamond idea DIY is made:
First we record to us the basic form for our later concrete diamond. On the photo you can see that the basic form reminds of a sort of fields. We cut out the hatched triangles later. It recommends to themselves to record the form first on a piece of paper and then to transfer afterwards on a piece of cardboard. If one likes the size and the form, we cut out our form with scissors.
If the basic form is cut out for our concrete diamond, we take the surfaces lying on top before and bend this easily. Also the lower part of our form is bent. We form a sort of ice-cream cone by the form. We stick this from the outside then with some adhesive tape, so that a stable diamond forms. One can attach to the safety on the point below still some adhesive tape, so that later no concrete leaks.
Thus our cardboard diamond looks if we have made everything right. Now this form is filled with concrete. In which ratio to us like her this anmischt, I have already shown you in the article concrete tree DIY. There you can read up in rest everything. If you have the concrete freshly angemischt, you fill this in the form. With possibly half you catch to you a loo roll and press this in the humid concrete. At the underside of the roll you fasten some Aulufolie, no concrete can penetrate at this point. Thereby we form a hollow cavity within our concrete diamonds.
As soon as the form to on top is full there, we smooth the surface and fasten on three corners a few small rings of a steel chain. We press this about 3-4 cm in the diamond full with concrete. Now we let our form dry about 26 hours. Then we can release our almost ready piece of art from the cardboard. When required the surface can be ground off yet something. Now one can fasten a few more other steel chain rings with tongs, so that one can also later hang up our diamond.
If we have extended the chain, we can varnish the lower piece of the diamond still gold. For this we simply stick on to us the area from and spray with some wallflower the point. If this has dried, we are ready! Now we can use our stylischen concrete diamonds immediately for two things: Equips with a tillandsia, we have a small breath of the hanging gardens of Babylon. Turned we can use our concrete to diamonds, however, also as a cool jewellery filing for all kinds of rings! By the created hollow cavity we can steal the chain simply quite fast. 😉
I find this concrete DIY idea simply amazing! As a plant hanger, as well as as a jewellery filing – I find the concrete diamonds miraculous! How do you like my today’s Do It Yourself project & would you copy it?

Homemade gifts are simply the best
Valentine’s Day is just around the corner and therefore you should think about what to prepare for your loved ones. If you need food inspiration, you should check out my Valentine’s Day recipes article. For all those getting stressed right now since they spent all their money for the last Christmas presents, I have fantastic news for you! In this post I want to show you beautiful Valentine’s Day gift ideas with wow-factor that are homemade and above all absolutely not expensive.
At least after my article LOW BUDGET photo tips you might have noticed that I like to use household items and similar objects. Since DIY gifts are more appreciated than bought presents we can hit two birds with one stone today. In order that you can create these ideas even easier I have linked the products which I have used to make the gifts. If you want to steal one of the ideas anyway I would be very grateful if you could just click on a linked product. Thus, I get a small commission and can write more such articles for all of you ? ♥ The good thing about these gift ideas is that they can also be made for other holidays such as Mother’s Day, St. Nicholas Day or birthdays, as well as just to bring along as a nice souvenirs when you’re invited somewhere. Now that many, many super cool gift ideas are waiting for you let’s not talk too much but let’s do the job properly. Are you curious? Let’s go!
This Valentine’s Day gift idea is unisex and can both be given to ladies & gentlemen. The basic module for this gift is a pin box which can of course be replaced by any other box. Also when it comes to design the box you can vary according to your preferences. For this gift I chose a transparent pin box on which I have attached pretty flowers. Such a box can be filled perfectly with homemade chocolates (like mine), sweets, love letters, vouchers and more.
The more mature readers still might know them: the film containers from analogue times. These containers can be perfectly used as sweet wrapping for personal gift ideas just like necklaces, rings or little love messages. Filled with some cotton, you can protect the piece of jewellery perfectly that you want to give away. By the way, the cotton reminds of cotton candy, especially when you grab the pink cotton wool.
Of course, this container does not look so pretty in raw state, so I painted it with nail varnish in ombré style. The golden pendant that I put in my finished film container I have glued myself with glitter dust. Such sweet heart pendants can be found in the children’s jewellery department for little money. This Valentine’s Day gift idea is especially perfect for newly in love couples but also for couples who have been together for some time. This bottle mail is very personal and above all very original. All you need for this DIY gift idea is a sweet bottle, heart-shaped glitter confetti, some natural cord and of course your love message. This beautiful Valentine’s Day gift idea is perfect to present sweets, cookies, small cakes, homemade chocolate, bathing balls and more. For this gift I chose an old Pullmoll box, that once contained herbal candies, and I redesigned it with a lot of nail varnish.
To create this star look you simply need to apply circles on the box with the nail varnish and pull them outwards with a wooden stick. As the basic colour I chose cherry red. In addition, I used pink and white nail varnish. I painted the edge of the can in the same colours but with different patterns. [/column] [/row]

For this sugar-sweet rose peeling you only need two ingredients: sugar and rose petals. I recommend using organic roses as they are free of harmful substances. To make the sugar scrub, simply blend some sugar with the rose petals of about two rose buds and fill the finished scrub into a pretty glass bottle. You can simply use an empty salad dressing bottle for example or a similar bottle. To make the bottle even more decorative you can download pretty labels for free in the download field below. With a little cord you can wrap the bottle neck and add another label, for example „made with love“. Only the juice of the rose petals gave this sugar scrub its pretty pink colour.
Ready for a little surprise? With this super cool surprising box sparkling eyes are guaranteed! Just pack some fluffy feathers or confetti in the box and hide your real little gifts like a necklace, a ring, a voucher, a key for a new car or a newly renovated room or a separate locked jewellery box. As packaging you can simply use a paper box that you can decorate with sparkling jewellery.
Cups are a great gift idea for Valentine’s day, because we use them every day. You can either use designed cups or one-coloured cups and design them yourself. I used nail varnish for my cups (see picture below) by giving it drop by drop into a bowl filled with water. In order to get the marble effect, simply pull a wooden stick through the nail varnish you have put into the water. Then hold the cups directly into the water and turn them in a way that all the surfaces you want to paint are coloured.
With this love drinks you do not only delight men but also women. Just take the favourite drinks of your loved ones and wrap them beautifully. Of course you can also attach small love messages directly to the bottles. [/column] [/row]

As the saying goes „love goes through the stomach“ and thus a perfect Valentine’s Day gift should also include some sweets. But even the most beautiful cookies can’t show off without the right packaging. That’s why I want to show you three different cookie boxes. These can be simply conjured from old crisp boxes or cookie jars or with old preserving jars. [/column] [/row]

Of course, the symbolic heart belongs to the celebration of love. With this stylish pinboard with a heart made of strings you will surely make your loved ones very happy. Unlike chocolates or a pretty bouquet of flowers this cool pinboard made of cork lasts for a lifetime. Once hung up, it always reminds us of love – ain’t that great? For this homemade Valentine’s Day gift you only need three things: a pinboard, some yarn and many pins. First step is to pin the contour of your favourite motive on the pinboard. I recommend using a paper stencil to make it more even. Then, you loop the yarn around each pin at least once. Go ahead, up and down, from left to right. The more lines you create with the yarn, the more dense your picture will become in the end. [/column] [/row]

Light is the most important element when it comes to photography – ab this tutorial is for beginners and I will give some tips for better light set up

„It’s all about the light“ – Light is the most important element when it comes to photography
At my first trainee-ship at a photograph, the photograph asked me: „what is the most elementary element of photography. I had no idea, but today I know it. IT’S ALL ABOUT THE LIGHT. Without light, you can’t make a picture. If you can set a professional light set up than you can make great pictures with the cheapest camera and the really hard to learn in photography is not to understand the camera, it’s to control the light. If I got too much light I will overexpose pictures, if I have only one hard light I will get shadows of black. With too less light I get a blurry picture because the exposure time is too long or the picture gets noisy because of the ISO. Well about the Topic light you can write a lot of books, but this tutorial is for beginners and I will give some tips for better light set up:

[row] [column md=“6″]
Photography Tips [icon type=“glyphicon glyphicon-arrow-right“] Look for shadows
At the beginning it will be really hard to shoot in the sunlight, because this light is really hard and this makes hard and dark shadows. It can be also great to shoot in the sun, but there for you will need some experience and some more equipment to make good pictures. The picture on the right side is taken in the shadow the light is really soft and we don’t have „black“ shadows.

Photography Tips [icon type=“glyphicon glyphicon-arrow-right“] Try different source of lights
The natural light is the most popular light, but there are different types of light. For example: the directly sunlight and diffuse light in shadows. You also can try to use light, which is reflected by some building or use the classic Window. With a window you get a frontal light, this light is much better than the sunlight from the top and if you use a white curtain in front of the window you will get a beautiful soft light. You can also try different lamps. The Picture one the right is taken with window light.
Photography Tips [icon type=“glyphicon glyphicon-arrow-right“] Sun as backlight
One of my favorite settings is sun as back light. But this works only in the early morning or late evening. This light is a hard but really warm light. The difficulty is here; that you will need to use a reflector or flash for your model, if not the sky will look like a white space. With Sun as back light you will also get a stunning lens flare.

[row] [column md=“12″ ]
Photography Tips [icon type=“glyphicon glyphicon-arrow-right“] Use a reflector
This is really important; on every shooting I have at least 1 person with a reflector with me, because the reflector gives me the possibility to light up the dark shadows. But be carefully with reflector, because the reflector has another light temperature than the other light. It’s not possible to hide all shadows and at the most cases it will be look strange if the reflector light have the same bright as the (sun) light. On the right picture we have the sun as a side-back-light. To make the face brighter we used a reflector at the front.
